Scherf Farms Eggs

Our eggs really are better. Our cage free hens are free to roam
foraging on grassses and bugs. Our hens are fed a corn based
diet with whole flax seed added. The hens really like the flax
seed and the flax seed increases the levels of omega-3 fatty
acids. The yolks are bright orange, not pale yellow like most in
the grocery store. Our current flock consists of Rhode Islands,
Barred Rocks and Aracaunas. The Rhode Islands and the Barred
Rocks lay traditional brown eggs while the Aracaunas lay blue
and green eggs. In a dozen eggs you may get a variety of
sizes, most will be a medium size some may be larger or
Smaller. Eggs are very popular and there is usually a waiting
list. We have additonal hens that will start laying soon that
should reduce the wait. The hens appreciate your patience.
